VIDEO PRODUCTION SERVICES

Video by Carl Marxer

These are podcasts that I produced for the Post New York Alliance. PNYA is the professional organization for feature film editing. I researched the topics, scheduled the meetings,  lined up the speakers and pre-interviewd all of the guests. I wrote and gathered all of the materials for our PR organization so the event could be promoted. I am on the Education Committee for PNYA.

Post Break 50: Virtual Production for New York Filmmakers

This is the first live program we did after the pandemic. We staged it at the Fuse 42 LED Volume stage at Times Square in NYC. Shelly Sabel demonstrates how an LED volume works for filming. Ben Baker discusses his role on the short film "Fat Head", and how they used Virtual Produciton. Isabel Sadurni leads a discussion panel with Ben, Shelly, Felix Jorge, the Virtual Art Designer, and c. Craig Patterson, the writer and director.

Ben arranged the guests, and I gathered and collected the materials to promote the event. I recorded the isolated audio tracks provided by the stge crew, and did the video recordings. Then, I edited all the multicamera orignials and iso audio tracks into the final program. I was assisted by Mike Nobel, Eli Lederberg and Tom Mauro on cameras. Chris Cush was assistant recording engineer. Colton Suarez was the Production Manager for Fuse 42. Chris Peterson coordinates the Education Committee for the PNYA.  You can watch the You Tube video in 4k by chooing it under the gear icon. I filmed and edited the program completely in 4k.

Post Break 43: Turnover to Picture

This is a conversation between an Assistant Editor and Conform Editor at a facility covers picture editorial workflows for the Assistant Editor from the beginning of a project. They discuss how to stay organized for best results, and overall how to manage turnover to best suit your production. It is the How, What and When to deliver to a Digital Intermediate house for picture finishing, and how to follow up so everything on an edit timeline transfers directly to the colorist’s timeline. This session covers the VFX editorial process once editing is completed. We’ll hear from a working VFX editor and VFX Supervisor about the VFX shot workflow in editorial through to finishing shots and how they work together. What to expect from VFX in an editorial sense, how to organize the complicated VFX delivery process and how to finish successfully.
